we need to learn how to kill a team when they’re down
What’s up with the Kings defense??
We had those Cannugets out and we let them in. We have to learn how to put them down and out of the game and shut them down. This loss stings!
Frack! Ok, let’s regroup and get them in Vancouver!
Hey, give the nucks some credit, they played great. We’re still in this and the pressure will still be on them in game 5.
I guess we are going to have to settle for a tie. Get ready for game 5 everyone! And a big BOO to Verses. I hate their announcers.
That was one of the worst 4th periods we’ve played all season long. Need to regroup after that one. Maybe Quick will get some sleep on the road without a crying baby at home. Pull it together boys
Nucks scored every outnumbered situations. Kings didn’t. That was the difference. Quick has to make one of those saves like Luongo did.
Great game but in the end the sedins win
if only frolov could make a breakaway….EVER….tough one to swallow
Make one big save Quick, one. Seriously
Froloaf needs to learn some moves and beat luongo.
And do something about Samuelsson already!
We reverted back to playing a good 45 minute game. The intensity disappeared for stretches, and Jonathan didn’t make a few saves he normally would have. Missed opportunities like the Frolov breakaway hurt as well.
You have to give credit to Vancouver for making some adjustments to pressure our D on the power play too.
I think we will regroup and have a good game up in Vancouver.
Keep your chin up everyone, the series is tied…just means we will win it at home!
Agree with what “Glocks” says above. I’ve been saying all year that Quick is simply not good enough to win some games for us in the playoffs. Hopefully next year we’ll find out if Bernier is or not.
THE GAME DECIDER WAS SIMMONS GETTING TRIPPED BY OBRIAN AND THE NUKS GOING DOWN ON AN OUT NUMBERED BREAK AWAY!
NO CALL BS!!!!!!!!!
Luongo save and Fro’s breakaway the turning point of the game. Coulda been up 4-2.
Before anyone says anything about Jones… He played a good game. He made a save on goal that should have been an empty net goal. He also had some great plays that lead to a two on one. Jones was better than Harrold in this one.
We lost this game because Luongo could make a big save and Quick couldn’t. Quick didn’t look good in this one. Hopefully he gets it together.
This scares me going back to Vancover tied 2-2, it gave them something to build on. This sux!!!!
goldielocks get off Quicks back!!! I know you need to blame someone but don’t blame Quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the defense they let him down. We can’t win them all. We had our chances and couldn’t capitalize. We let up in the third and the Canucks capitalized. End of story!!!!!
The momentum in the game changed for Vancouver when they were able to kill off the third penalty (the Kings had scored on the first two PPs). They were encouraged and pushed the play after that. And also contributing was the goal they got on their PP.
No kidding! Quick wasn’t bad tonight (well his rebound control was, but always is), he just wasn’t great. To win the Cup, a team has to have a great goaltender. Quick is not that. Meanwhile in Manchester Bernier got the team a sweep.
Back to filthy disgusting Vancouver. Hopefully Frolov shows up next game.
Tough loss but you can’t say the Kings didn’t play good hockey because they did. Maybe this is what will drive home the “Play a full 60 minutes” idea.
Damn… We had this game. We had sooo many chances to go up by 2 goals… we have to learn how to finish those. Frolov gotta score on that break away… Good game otherwise.. we just got outworked in the third period.. we looked like we were out of gas. Was clune even in this game? I cant recall seeing him play… We need to put williams back in place of clune or parse on the fourth line. Leave simmonds on the first.. and the the two lines intact.. Lets go boys… We deserved to win this one, but lets regroup and get the win in bc.. btw nuckers got “lucky” on those bounces.. :/ The van coach cant even give us created when its due.. but i see what he is doing.. trying to syke his own player into thinking that we are getting lucky and they are not getting out worked.. but ok.. Lets nail these nuckers on there own home court. GO KINGS!!
After watching the 3rd period only, I can say the officials were quite one sided there for sure. All for the Canucks bastards, it should be a penalty for tripping on Simmonds before they scored their fifth, winning goal.
Why could we not keep the momentum when Simmers tied it up?? We seemed to go back into a shell. The Canucks entered our zone with absolute ease throughout the third period. We got to stand them up at our blueline. This is going to be a sleepless night for me thinking what could have been. OMG I feel sick. I want to play game 5 right now!!!!!!!
yea there were some cheap plays from Canucks, like the tripping of Simmons, the holding the stick of Handzus, and what happned with the net, did Luongo hit it out?
@johnjuan
dude! thats what i saw too.! i was like wtf that was a penalty and they come back and score. wow refs.
Kings WITH Randy Jones = 0 – 2.
Kings WITHOUT Randy Jones = 2 – 0.
Any questions?
I guess there won’t be any conspiracy theory BS from Vancouver tonight. Simmonds was blatantly tripped going for the puck behind the net – no call. If Simmonds isn’t tripped, he definitely is first to the puck and Vancouver DOESN’T GET their 4 on 2 break.
I know – let’s make like Canucks fans and whine all night…or not.
I still think we can win this series.
Oh well it was good while it lasted.Somebody better work with Quick again cuz he was swiss cheese,I don’t know how many shot against, but they know where to shoot. Two of those goals were above the pad under the blocker,I think he waaayyy over compensated, not very good positioning,he really needed to steal some of those goals.Great game,I thought for sure we were gonna win, some rookie mistakes but I think we can come out and do it,I think Quick learned tonite, at least I hope he will.Heart breaker but the Kings are getting better every game.
I’ll kill you kevin bieksa
QUick… good saves tonight. But we need you to pull one out for us buddy. We need that big save. End of story.
I wonder what Murray is going to do now….. Oh now wait I know, dumb me… He’ll blame Williams…… Told ya so… Let’s dress Parse and play him for 5 minutes instead of a Stanly Cup Champion player. Someday you will learn Murray is a joke! Let’s put Jones in tonight instead… wipe the soot off your face Murray… that one blew up on ya!
This team is WAYYYYY better without Jones. Although Jones wasn’t HORRIBLE tonight, he was still bad. Team has no confidence with Jones.
LA needs to put the nail in the coffin and shut this team down.
I knew VAN would come strong in the 3rd…They always do!
Purple,
Agree about JW, but would like to see Parse with Stoll and Brownie. He at least has the shot mentality. Drop Frolov down to the 4th with Halpern and JW.
Yes the Kings lost and ALL of you are looking for someone to blame and of course once again it is Quick!! Look to the defense . They did not help him at all. Quick is great if we win and horrible if we lose. This is a team game and the team did NOT support the goalie. This is a seven game series and hopefully we will come through in Vancouver and then come home and win it. Stop the Quick bashing now!!!!!!!! He has done a great job and the series is 2-2.
Further.. Frolov needs to pick it up. He had this game on his stick and couldn’t put it away. Dress WILLIAMS next game, I don’t remember seeing Clune out there. Let’s make a switch TM.
@lenman
Kings had some outnumbered attacks but Luongo made good saves. Quick didn’t. Now which goalie did better job is pretty obvious. Watch and learn from replay.
This series is over, unless Bernier is recalled from Manchester. It’s not just about Quick’s mediocrity, but also about confidence – it’s clearly lacking in even strenght play and you can’t blame the team when they know that every good shot will end up in their net.
Kings cannot match the skill of Vancouver’s core, so we cannot get into a run and gun with them. Every time the Kings made a mistake they paid, whereas I hope I live long enough to finally see Frolov score on a breakaway, but I have my doubts I can make it to 100.
And yes, Quick isnt to blame but he also didnt make any game changing saves, and sometimes you need your goalie to do so.
That said, regroup, hitch on your workboots and take it to em in Vancouver!
SH!T F$CK D%MN H#LL .
Game 1, Jones on the ice. Game 4 Jones on the ice.
Other than that the nucks just played a better game this time and our Kings made some mistakes that got capitolized on becuase they played a better game.
one more thing about the play on the winning goal.
Watching on FSN, tonight Jim Fox roasted Ryan Smyth several times for being out of position. Fair enough, he was. But Jimmy, how about just once stepping up and calling out the referees for missing the call on Simmonds!
RJ haters:
Keep hating, that guys a bum (although they’ll say he made that save on Demitra..iffy)
Kings defence let Quick down, not the other way around ! Tired of haters allways jumping on the poor guy!!Geezzzz. u think were playing a team that is just gonna lay down and die here..wake up u bunch of downers!!We win as a team , we lose as a team..getting sick of this negative BS being thrown around!!!!
Lenman… I disagree. Quick could see all of those shots that went in. He needs to step it up and pull out a win for them.
This one hurts i think we are all feeling sick right now, its true we need to close the door when the option is there. But this is hockey anything can happen. Its time to go steal game 5 and win at home. ITs how its been scripted for us.
I wasnt at the game so i want o know how luongo’s net ended up being knocked out of place
Kings better play a full 60 mins next game and bring their A game in Vancouver and Home because if not Vancouver has all the momentum and could easily win the next 2 in this series. IF kings can start scoring 5 on 5 nad play a full game they can take this in 6 or 7
Adi= Left field, top of the bleachers behind the green monster at Fenway
O’Donnell should’ve knocked Sedin down hard, let him by and he scores, didn’t look like a veteran on that one Sean. Worst was out bad plays defensively and overshadowing a great offensive night. Oh well, got us on this battle Canucks, but you will lose the war!
GO KINGS GO!!!!
KINGS in 6
FRACK!
uggg. defense broke down.
Get them in Vancouver boys!
Unbelieveable. We had the Nucks down 3 times and we let them back into the game 3 times. Now Vancouver has all the momentum AND going back to Vancouver. We should be up 3-1 with a chance to eliminate them, and instead, we can be eliminated on Sunday. Of course, we can also eliminate the Nucks. We better win at GM Place.
Nice tripping by canucks before 5-4 goal…referee stand close and hand never comes up!Not only Q lose this game!
This is now a 3 game series with home ice to Vancouver again
And guys…can we PLEASE not complain about the refs?
that’s what we’ve been dissing the Nucks fans abaout. don’t join their numbers
Horrible. Complete meltdown. Kopi has put a few goals on the board but he’s not effective for the most part. Yes, good D, but he needs to step it up on offense. Where’s the speed?
Any chance simmer will get a one game suspension for dropping the gloves after regulation? What’s the rule again??
I can suck it up and accept that the Kings lost this game.
I just hate watching the game on T.V. and listening to how EXCITED Bob Miller and Jimmy Fox get when the opposition scores. Its killing me to see my Kings lose or squander a lead or lose a game they should win. But to listen to those two clowns.
Give me Nick Nickson any day!!!!
Yes Quick needs to make the saves, but you realize how open the shooters were. We need to pay attention to the little things, the goal that Pavol Demitra scored, it was because Sean O Donnel didn’t dump the puck in, instead he dumped the puck in and had a shift change, made it an outnumbered attack. Oh well tho, we will learn as the series goes on, remember this is our rebirth into the playoffs, it won’t be easy. But I think our grit will and has weared down Vancouver, they are not checking as much as they did in game 1 and game 2.
Several chances, including a couple of breakaways. Didn’t bury em. Result? A loss that should have been a win. Bummer. This team, for all it’s good qualities, one of which is admirable resilience, has never had a killer instinct. They néed it now, though.
smyth was the last fwd back on the last goal…shocking that he doesn’t have the footspeed to keep up with the sedins.
as for quick not making the big save, the kings shot the puck into luongo…sedins and samuelsson were hitting the corners, even with the tip in.
calling davis drewiskie…and end the randy jones experiment.
I defended Quick, with an apology. Now, this game, I blame Quick. He needs to steal us a few games. DAMNIT, STEAL’EM!!!
ALso, with Harold, if we were winning with him in the line up, why fix something thats not broke
Get of Quick’s back you losers! How can you come out and blame Quick? This was a team loss not a loss you can pin on one player. As for Jones, he played a solid game and even saved a goal so stop looking for that one scapegoat.
I’m starting to wonder if Shades or Adi is really Anthonyy. Get it into your heads bozos, Bernier is not coming up so quit all that Bernier $#!t.
Guys, you can’t win just depending on the goaltender only….. it is hard for goalie to carry a team. All the goals were legit because Quick cannot see the puck!!! Look at all the replay shots. When you have 4 or more dudes over 6-2 and about 200 pounds in frontof you, you can’t see. Also all the goals were scored are Grade A Quality chances. And about Bernier, he is not proven. NHL wise, yeah AHL ,bu the NHL is way different. Plus most AHL great goalies faulter when they get to the league, good example is LaBarbera just a reminder for you Kings fans. So stop blaming Quick on this. The team did not show up in the 3rd. It is just seem like all the guys just took the gas pedal off. And poor defensive coverage on the Sendin goal as well.
Forget the refs.. The Kings didn’t seem to show any energy to begin the third period, That is why they lost, the Nucks took advantage of that and took control of the game.
Have to show up for the game Friday.. And take it to them..
I’ve said it since the beginning of the season. The Kings best goalie is in the minors. You saw it tonight. The world class goalie makes the key saves, the Decent Ok goalie doesn’t. I do believe this series is now game, set, match Vancouver. Watch what happens to Quick from here on in. The World class Kings goaltender is in Manchester. Too bad.
I liked to know how two intentional delay of games penalties aren’t called in the final minutes of the game. Kings had a break out in Vancouvers zone and all of sudden Luongos net is off of it’s moorings???? Also if you cover the puck on the ice with your body, like Sedin did, that’s a freaking penalty. Now would the ref have called a highsticking if had been hit in the face with a stick???
HOW DID LUONGOS NET GET KNOCKED OUT OF PLACE!!!!!?
Jones played solid tonight ! Again , please , stop blaming one player for the loss ! Kings as a whole did not play good or smart defensively…
snakes and goldielocks They were perfectly placed shots up high and those are hard for any goalie to stop. but if you think this loss is on Quicks shoulders so be it. The Kings had PLENTY of opportunities to take this game and they let it slip away. But I know Quick sucks and the rest of the team was great. WHATEVER!!!! What about the play of OD? He cost a us a goal and turned the puck over more times than I can count. I could go on and on but in the end the Kings lost. But I guess in your eyes a loss equals Quick sucks!!! In my eyes I see 20 players who lost this game and need to refocus and come out swinging for the next one.
Enough of the “Simmonds was trip,” “one sided officiating,” etc. We got beat flat out tonight and didn’t capitalize on our chances. Let’s not be like some Vancouver fans and start complaining and calling out individual players. The Kings simply didn’t capitalize on their chances, made mistakes, and they paid for it. End of story. On to game 5.
IS it just me or did quick get beat blocker side more than twice tonite? What happenned to cutting off the angle? damn that was depressing. Im so glad i went to mondays game instead. man i knew it was too good to be true for us to win tonite. when it comes to the kings im a really sore loser :( oh well back to Waahhhncouver for game 5. Best 2 outa 3 boys lets do this
Again don’t blame Kopitar, the defense was unable to start the attacks, at least in the last period that I watched, so…
If we win the next game, the momentum will switch to our side again, GO KINS!!!!
And yes, no complaining about Simmers being tripped; that sort of battling and contact happens all game long behind the goal. Smyth just didnt use his veteran head and the Kopi line was too aggressive with the Sedins out there. I think when the Sedins come out whichever Kings are out there need to go into pure D until they can change for Zeus’s line.
Reasons for loss:
A) Coaching. Poor utilization of D. Our Def. D are easy to coach against.
b) Poor utilization of 4 Lines!
c)Quick. Come on. every shot he is shaky!
Dustin Brown…Great Game!
playoff hockey in la you gotta love it
I think we need a consensual IQ and beer goggle test for all posters.
The Quick comments are boardering sub 90 on the IQ scale.
can’t really blame anyone…maybe Smythe for getting caught too low but that iffy at best…Even Jones made a goal saving save by going down and blocking a shot when Quick got caught out of position…credit the nucks for capitalizing on a line change and having their top line against kopi’s line instead of zeus’ line….they made the most of their chances..
Whoever scores 1st loses. As simple as that. I have a scary gut feeling for the rest of the series.
Frolov, OD, Smyth,Jones(of course) and Quick needs to think it through and needs to do that fats before next game. OD and Frolov should be sat firstly and Williams should be added back to the line-up.
This was game 3 all over again. Play okay in the 1st, play great in the 2nd, and absolutely choke in the 3rd. Luckily, in game 3, we had a huge lead, so it didn’t matter, but today, we just let Vancouver back into the game. Once again, the Kings horrible breakaways show again. Frolov missed probably his 5th straight breakaway. If he scores there, it’s game over, and we’re up 3-1. Why wasn’t the Handzus line out there with the Sedins? It worked last game. All there is to do is win in Vancouver in game 5 to eliminate the Nucks in game 6.
we did get screwed at the end guys, but it is what it is. you cant cry over spilt milk. its time to just let it go and play a better game. this one hurts we can all agree on that.
The non call on Simmer decided it with the out numbered attack.
Ya Quick did not come up huge but you can’t blame him for the loss anymore than you can blame Fro for not scoring on the breakaway. Luongo came up big!
Reload boys and take it to them in Vancouver!
I still believe.
It’s simple physics gang, you dress Clune and Parse and played Clune for 3:32 minutes and Parse for 5:30 for the entire game. You run the other players out of gas by not rolling out your fourth line at all and you end up with a 3rd period of players who just fizzle out. Why bother dressing the players???? Maybe once you folks will learn to blame Murray. Why not dress Williams if you only have intentions of playing a player 3:32 minutes a game? this loss goes to the coach.
Randy Jones made 2 great plays and the haters are still blaming him????? WTF!!!!
Smith and OD….owwww….
Ya Quick did not come up huge but you can’t blame him for the loss anymore than you can blame Fro for not scoring on the breakaway. Luongo came up big!
Reload boys and take it to them in Vancouver!
I still believe.
@Adi…I disagree with everything you said…grow up.
Frolov on the breakaway…that’s what did it…PERIOD!
Non calll on Simmer was egregious.
@Adi…I disagree with everything you just said…grow up.
Simple story. Kings started out and played 2 great periods. They failed in 3rd and it cost them.
No need to blame any one individual. They all contributed to that loss in 3rd.
I blame Murray for the game one loss. The 4th line call is questionable. But tonight, we got beat in the third by a team that wanted it more, that’s all. Sure some penaltys should have been called, we got jobbed, plain and simple.
They Sedins are goal scorers and we weren’t going to keep them down all series long.
We lost, lets move on. I love the fight the boys had in them at the end of the game. Kings in 6.
@ Mick
I agree!
Very disappointing loss. I watched Quick being WAY behind the shots, in poor position, and/or laying on the ice, leaving Jonesy to make saves. If you give up a 2on1, D takes the pass, goalie the shooter. D did it’s job, Quick didn’t. 3 shots he could see clearly, and could not make the first save, or even get a piece of them. Quit with all the defending of a POOR effort by our keeper. Hopefully it was his only clunker, and he plays well in game 5.
Go Kings.
It must really be upsetting to the Jones haters that he was the only defenceman not scored against tonight and the only defenceman that ended up with a plus 1. Plus a big save when we needed it.
Smyth and OD are no spring chickens ! They have to play a bit smarter positonaly because their too slow to catch up!! TM will let the two kno about it, i guarantee it, here s hoping anyways…
The boys lost a LOT of faceoffs in the 3rd (18-11) and Stoll was among the missing once again; if I’d replace anyone with JW it would be Stoll; he’s not been making any kind of impact.
ABSOLUTE DEFENSIVE MELTDOWN! JONES IS A BUM! KOPI YOU HAD A GOAL TONIGHT BUT WHERE WERE YOU? PLEASE SHOW UP FOR GAME 5 & 6…LIKED THE FACT FRO JUMPED IN 2′X TO PROTECT DOUGHTY…
Lenman Quick did not have a great game,he over positioned on one goal, and he let two goals in above the pads under the blocker, the nuck shooters knew were to shoot.Quick needed to win this game with the team scoring that many goals. You are right the D was also to blame and some rookie mistakes were made ,but I think they will work with him and he’ll come out better.RJ was ok but it is scary the fact the team is 0-2 with him in,I think OD was not very good tonite.Lets put willy in and take Clune out,and every game I always say come on Frolly score, but he never does and that sucks.Take Fro and put him on the 4th and put willy up with Brown.
QUICK WASNT GOOD TONIGHT. Hey Quick, you can have games like this in regular season. In playoffs you need to make the big stops.
What happened to Zeus and Richardson? Heroes in game 3 and nowhere to be found in game 4.
Third period was too casual and Vancouver won it. They deserved this game because they fought to the end.
It becomes a best of 3 series.
LETS RESET AND START ALL OVER AGAIN. DONT LET THIS LOSS GET TO YOUR HEADS BOYS.
Most of Nucks goals were from some mental errors that can be corrected. We got this series!
bbb7 I totally agree with you. What is up with Stoll? I was a bit disappointed with his faceoffs. I thought he was a lot better than that.
It’s not Quick’s fault they had a 5 on 2!
1. They have to score more 5 on 5.
2. The Kings are direly lacking one more solid D-man.
3. They need to hit back and hit back hard. They’re getting their ass kicked.
4. Greene is slow.
5. Quick, once again, wasn’t the sole reason they lost but he really needed to make a huge save on one of those 3 that were scored in the third.
Honestly at the beginning of the series, if you told me the series would be tied at two, I would have taken it. Kings have a lot to be proud of going into game five. If they would have lost game three, but won this one, the result is the same: 2-2. It’s just perspective. Kings have played great hockey and need our support going forward. For being out of the playoffs for eight years, and to be tied in this series against a more experienced playoff squad is saying something.
If you do not score, the opposite team does- it happens in hockey more often than not. JJ and Fro did not score two golden opportunities, and there we had it.
Also, the Smyth line against the sisters was very questionable while the Handzus line was fine before. Why change what worked?
While Quick is not to blame for the loss, he did not save the team either when it needed the most. He is not a play-off type of goalie yet.
Can’t blame this loss on any one player, but the Kings as a team. They got away from their game in the 3rd and ,as much as I hate to say it,the Nucks played well.Kings just let this one get away.Regroup and head to Van. and get a win.We can still beat these guys.Keep your head up Kings fans
callin out kopi? the guy has locked down the middle of the ice, backchecked like a demon and cycled like crazy. he’s going against two of the best faceoff guys in the league too…not his fault.
maybe he’d have better stats if he didn’t have a 95 year old in smyth on his wing and had kovalchuk instead next year. =)
Save percentage 3rd period alone is .765 … that is not a good number. Overall save percantage is .837 … obviously this wasn’t Quick’s game. Remember how Kings win over most of the games during the legular season? Quick allowed 3 or few goals and Kings scored 3 or more. That’s how Quick stole the game all season long but not this game. I didn’t say anything about replacement for Quick but it seemed to me he lost focus at some point. Luongo was shaky on rebound but he made some big save for the team. Quick must compete with that. I really hope he will bounce back and steal one for us.
You know what I find to be hilarious? A good majority of the posters right now NEVER post unless the Kings are losing or lose. Yes, there have been many lean years, but as a real fan, really? I’m getting disgusted.
LVKINGS88 Quicks biggest critic ALL season long even said that Quick had no bad goals and they were not his fault. Who said this……..yes Jim Fox. He has been on Quicks back ALL year long so if anyone would blame him for the loss it would be Mr Fox. I agree with you about JW. Put him in and give him another chance. OD seemed burned out and very slow tonight. Maybe he needs a rest!
Kings looked tired in the 3rd and just got outplayed. Guys can’t keep getting caught out of position. I don’t remember making one big save 2nite, I do remember Randy Jones saving him. Quick you gotta make one or two big saves a game if you wanna be a starting goaltender in the NHL. Luongo did, Quick didn’t. Defense wasn’t very good either so that didn’t help Quick. Whatever guys, if someone told me it would be 2-2 after 4 games I’d take it. Just gotta steal game 5 in Vancouver and finish them in 6. Remember we are the 2nd best team in the NHL on the road.
Well you can be wrong once in awhile, and Foxy was tonite, look he did not have a great game and for the reasons I posted above, but he neede to make some of those saves.I know that the coaches will work his positioning, and close up that as Fox would say”the new spot that the shooter like to shoot at” which is between the blocker and the pads.Again the D need to tighten up ,and the beginner mistakes have to stop.
So where are you so called fans when the Kings win or Quick has an outstanding game? Kings lose and straight to the goalie the fingers start pointing. The goalie may seem like the obvious one to point the finger to, but the goalie isn’t the whole team.
I find it amusing how the CBC announcers said Quick had a strong game and here are you so called experst quickly blaming Quick just to feel better because Bernier isn’t here. The more and more I here this junk about Bernier would have done it better the more I wish we got rid of him because the more of a distraction he is becoming.
I mean really, Quick isn’t a playoff goalie? Then what do you make of Martin Brouder and how the Devils are down 3-1?
Maybe if some of you played hockey and were goalies you can understand that goalies don’t have x-ray vision and see through players parked in front of them. That it’s a team effort, not just the goalie.
Some of you should switch allegiance and become Vancouver Canucks fans with all your whining!
The game? Vancouver wanted it more in the third. Period. No name calling or blame. But, I really would like an explanation from a smart hokey fan as to the rules regarding both the net off the pegs and Sedin’s laying down on the puck. That had to be fs*k up on the refs. I’m not bitching about the refs, just want some facts.
HAHA! I want to see TM crawl out of this one….
“Jonesy was amazing…..played his heart out….Williams? No…..Jones is the man to beat. You watch.”
My take from watching the game here in Vegas! No bad goals were scored tonight! Quick did good. Jones was 50x better as he actually made a save! I had to TIVO that a few times to make sure I was seeing the right player on his knees doing a block. I knew this series would be a battle, and my prediction before the play-offs started was Kings in 6! And so far I am right on track! Smyth and OD both made a mistake, yes! However, once in awhile you can make a mistake here and there! Luongo made 2 great saves on Brownie and Fro! Either way, it was a fun game. Sad loss to swallow, but we need to pick right up and support the Kings! Kings can rebound from this as did Van. I am going to try and make game six in LA! I need to come down and support my boys live! Good game boys, you can rebound from this! See you in a few days! Oh one more shout-out goes to Jones! Good job and thank you for showing up tonight! Drew had a bad pass at the end, but can rebound! Like OD said, not sure when, but need to forget about this loss now and look forward to game 5! Good night all!
My mistake. Save percentage 3rd period alone is .813. Overall is .861.
Really hate this Van team. Without the Sedins they are like nothing. Stop them in the next game and we’ll stop Vancouver as well.
GO KINGS!!
Fans should still feel good.
If we get bumped in the first round, by and large, we will all be very forgiving (I am not sure what that really means but…).
If the Whale gets bumped, they have big problems, going from the top, all the way down. I’m not surprised with their desperation.
The Kings as a team were greatly outplayed in the 3rd period. What’s up with that?
Quick: OK, but 5 GA is too many. Needs to make the big save.
Jones: Great game. +1. Saves a goal with a save.
Other D: Could’ve been better.
4th line: Needs to play more, maybe add Williams.
Handzus line: Didn’t play as well and were mostly -2.
Jack J & Frolov: Could’ve put the puck away when alone in front of Luongo.
Penalty Kill: We failed on one big one that helped Vancouver get going after they finally dampened our PP, which inspired them.
OK Peeps, here it is;
Simmonds was tripped, The net was already off from a collision with Kopitar when they were down at that end before, Quick was sharp until the third, Frolov got stopped because the advantage is with the goaltender, the team came out flat in the third, yes, yes, yes. C’mon people! These guys took the #3 seed in the conference to the third period in game 4 leading 3-2! Being there it looked like they were playing not to lose in the third. They’re young, they’re learning, they have the talent. They’re tied with the 3rd seed after 4 games. Congratulations boys. Take the series in 7 if you have to. GO KINGS GO. Take a chill pill folks Game 5 will be awesome and game 6 here will be …….
As much as I appreciate the ‘tude they’re showing for the playoffs, I can’t express enough disappointment with the way they played in the third. They looked like they were unaware they had a lead. They didn’t play the kind of game that got them the lead, they started looking for easy goals and getting out of position, and giving away 2-foot shots at the net.
@Tired of it
Yes, we are still proud of the Kings!
Overall, they’re are making it happen!
We didn’t really think that Vancouver would just lay down and roll over for us, did we?
Was at the game and this is what it felt like… 1st period soooo solid… 2nd period ok… 3rd WHERE IS OUR DEFENSE? I think there was one that Quick should’ve stopped but other then that… there was no D.. Quick cannot do it all!!! Plus I agree with the stats that say… Jones in 0-2.. without Jones 2-0…who ever says he played well wasn’t watching.. he makes HUGE mistakes… But I’m not blaming him totally..NO D, Jones and not scoring 5 on 5 is a problem. Moving on to Game 5. GO KINGS GO…show’em how we do it in LA.
Just got back from the game. Man that Metro Blue Line was slow tonight..never thought it would show up.
Anyways the Kings played solid for 2 periods, but with the game on the line Vancouver ouplayed us by a wide margin in the 3rd, they earned the win. It was’nt any one persons fault, we just have to own it and move on. Vancouver has a hell of a team, we are young and learning . I think we split the next two and this goes to game seven.
Its been a blast being at Staples last two games. Can’t wait for Sunday.
Good luck on friday Boys.
Sedin twins always annoying. Game 5 is shaping up to be a beauty. Hope it goes into overtime like it did in 93′. Fantastic series so far. Off with their heads boys.
Is that ref blind and not see who was it obrien blatantly trip Simmonds? that was a complete joke! makes it interesting. split the home games coming into the home stretch may go to 7.
Anyone notice that the first team to score in all 4 games has gone on to lose? Interesting…
Anyways, tough loss. I think it was the Kings getting cocky going into the 3rd period with a lead. 3 bad mistakes leads to 3 Vancouver goals.
If we win game 5, it’s going to be another nail biter. If the Kings play all of game 5 the same way they played the 1st period tonight, they have a great chance.
Our defense defends a lot better when Jones isnt playing!!!! Why the hell does Murray love this guy so much, pisses me off!!!! RAGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What can u say. It was a great game. Welcome to the playoffs, no one is going to lay down. We’ll get’em. Go Kingz
While Quick sure didn’t lose this game for us, but he sure didn’t win it for us either.
These comments about the “Kings being 2-0 with Jones out and 0-2 with Jones in” is about the stupidist and unintelligent comments I have ever read. He wasn’t scored on people. He was a plus 1. Don’t blame him for the mistakes of others when he wasn’t even on the ice. Stupid, stupid comments.
2 (or 3?) goals beat quick in the same spot…above the pad and under the blocker…something to work on in practice me thinks….
3rd period was a hot mess, boys were running around like they had no idea what to do. Here’s a suggestion to TM, let’s not have Green and OD on the Sedin line. Like ever, those two aren’t quick enough to defend them. Don’t blame the refs, that’s cowardly and calls usually go both ways. Jones wasn’t terrible, he still can’t settle a puck down to save his life on the blue line but he played pretty well. I personally thought one or two goals quick should’ve had.
Props to the Nucks for blasting our brains out in third. They took it too us and we didn’t have enough. I hate their fans though, like a lot. I hate their ugly unis and their stupid faces. Every Kings fan needs to get tix on Sunday so their arrogant fans can’t get one. Even if you can’t just buy a ticket for someone else or something. Geez I hate that team….
Jones played well. The Nucks were energized after they finally kill a penalty and came out hard in the 3rd and outplayed us. That’s why they won. Quick wasn’t bad, no softies, but the D seemed out of sorts on some key plays. Hard fought game…but have to say had more fun at the 1st home game than this one!
The third period was the return of The Escort Service. Too bad they let that one go away. As for Quick, he kept them in the game. He faced 12 second period and 16 third period shots, most of which were quality chances, thanks to the run-and-gun forwards who should have playing the game they were coached.
How does Luongo get away with deliberately dislodging the net when the Kings had mega momentum coming at him and not get a delay of game penalty???? Where is the Nucks complaint of conspiracy when the refs obviously favored them ?
Kings, win it on Friday. You can do it. Shut down the sisters.
This the one that got away and it’s the worst time of the year to start losing with a lead at the end of 2. That said, I am confident that the Kings will regroup and address the open issues, and come out with a solid game on Friday.
While Luongo made some key saves in the first two periods, the Kings continue to push his GAA upward, which is definitely a good sign for us.
I forgot to mention Quick…
This is the second game in a row where he’s been unable to make key, timely that could have shifted the tide and probably altered the course of the game. I agree with the comments above that he probably should’ve had a couple of those shots that got by him. No question, last night was not one of his better performances of this series, but the Kings defense, as a whole, tanked the 3rd. Time to tighten it up and get back to playing team defense.
Good game. A couple of errors killed us. Forget about it an move on.
Couldn’t get on this site last night because I sick of waiting for Vs. and found alternate means to watch the game online.
Was very bummed after the game, but the boys just got beat. That was no kind of playoff hockey – you can’t play wide-open with a team that can score goals in the playoffs. It leads to more mistakes, and we all know mistakes = goals for the bad guys.
I’l take a page from TM and O’D – be bummed for 10 minutes and move on. I am expecting the Kings to take this game as a learning experience (everything’s new in the playoffs) and see that they can’t play like that and expect to win. I still believe the Kings can and will take this series, if not in 6 games, then in 7 if need be.
GO KINGS!
Psychologically, the Kings must continue to look at it and focus on one play at a time, one shift at time. We won 2 of the first 3 games in this series, there is no reason to think that we can’t do it again.
Totally agree re: Luongo’s save on Fro’s breakaway. It was the difference in the game. Any more details re: Luongo’s ‘pushing/kicking’ his net? A caller on KINGS Talk last nite from Sec. 116 said HE took it off earlier and THEN kicked it when the KINGS were rushing in. Just wondering.
Quick can’t be blamed on any of the goals with the possible exception of coming out a bit and cutting off the angle on H. Sedin. Otherwise, they were all quality shots against him.
Bad time for Sean O’Donnell to stink up the arena, though.
Maybe I am just being a bitter old man – but, does anyone besides me think that Smyth has been playing really poorly? A few good plays here and there, but not the kind of sustained excellence I would expect out of a six million dollar man.
Luongos net was barely off, it looked like it was sitting uneven on his left side. The play left his area and all the while he’s moving the net to where it was when play came back(practically up against the wall.)
I haven’t heard, was even questioned about that after the game?
