COACH BARRY TROTZ
(on the game…)
“It was (one of the better wins) in a sense where we had lots of chances early in the game and didn’t capitalize on that. I thought Jonathan Quick was, obviously, maybe a little rusty. He’s had a lot of great things happen to him in the last couple days so he’s probably been on an emotional roller coaster, and he was just having trouble hanging onto the puck a little bit. We had some pucks behind us and we couldn’t finish off and they score. And then they get the goal there and, from our standpoint, that can be real deflating, but I love the way we responded in terms of, within a shift or two, we got that goal back and got it to even terms. Obviously on the winning goal I thought it was a real heads-up play by Danny Hamhuis at the point. He could have got it and threw it at the net. He had some poise, took a step, changed the angle, allowed for a low-coverage breakdown with Hornqvist and Hornqvist does some really good things down at the blue paint.”
PATRIC HORNQVIST
(on his game-winning goal…)
“It was a big goal. We had the puck deep, got the cycle going, and Hamhuis made a great play to me from the net and I got it around the goal and it was nice to see it went in. Everybody in this locker room worked really hard and it was a nice game and two points is the biggest thing.”
PEKKA RINNE
(on the Smyth/Williams interference call…)
“I didn’t see too much of what really happened. I just kind of tried to reach the puck, read the play, and find the puck, but I don’t know… Something hit me and it was probably both players. Those are probably tough for referees to call, but it’s good for us.”

Even Trotz knows Bernier should of started the game.
@WWAMD,
Even Rinne knew they were bad calls…
@WWAMD,
Oh, and another thing:
Until this loss, there was still a reasonable chance that JQ could catch Brodeur’s win record…
Now, it becomes very unlikely.
The refs stole this game for the Preds.This seems to be the usual for Peel…he’ll call the Kings for
something and not the other team for the same thing. I saw Suter holding several times, and elbowing, but nary a call. Above all, the Kings did not come to play. It’s time they stop making excuses for themselves and play every game hard. That’s what they’re getting paid to do, and we are paying to watch..not lethargy!!!
Enough with the excuses.It would of really helped if we had put more than one man in on the forcheck.Also would like to see Harry get a chance to skate.OLDDONALD needs to rest once in awhile.Just thinking.
I agree with old man. Also I don’t understand why R.Jones gets as many chances. For some reason no matter how good Harold plays he gets pulled,as he did on the 5 game eastern trip. If he was on another team he still would of got more of a chance to play, but next game home Randi Jones gets back in the lineup.
@BakoCAkingsCondorsGuy,
Don’t get me wrong, I love JQ, however, I believe Bernier is the goalie of the future and I believe JQ should of taken this game off to spend time with his new family. It was just one more game. One more game of experience for JB and a nice long weekend with his new family for JQ. It would of been a win win for both parties and the fans as well. Congrats to JQ BTW.
@WWAMD, Could not disagree with everything you said more.
So because Quick’s wife had their child, just because the goaltender who has been there all season HAS ONE OFF GAME, you think the kid of the future, who has proven, NOTHING, should have started?
Um…What WOULD Andy Murray have done? Might want to ask him what golf course he’s playing on. Nice guy and all, but…
@Old Man,
I love OD, but he is getting slow and is making mistakes so he is 5 in my line of 6. Jones has to go before OD. I trust Harry more than Jones for the 6th spot. And I also thought that Drewiske blew the pants off of Jones in the D zone, but didn’t play well coming back from his injury. I think I would rather see him than Jones. I hope all of these great D men we drafted will be ready next year.
@WWAMD, grow up!
I also don’t get why we need Halpern. Maybe he can help, but I’d rather he would sit and play the following 4th line:
Clune—Richardson—Parse
That line would bring more energy!
@King John,
I’m not sure I agree. Richardson hasn’t been all that great lately in my opinion.
He came up short in battles along the boards countless times on Sunday.
@Sparman,
Not mention that beautiful pass he gave to Sharpe on Wednesday in OT against the Hawks.
March,30th I’m expecting a beat down on the preds.No more having play dictated to us.Go out and make a statement.
