Stat of the night

Jonathan Bernier had five shootout in this season. He lost all of them and stopped 66 percent of shots. Nice timing on his first shootout win of the season… Bernier will fly to L.A. with the team, likely just to make sure that things are OK with Jonathan Quick and family.

  2. kopi11 says:

    @neil, Not very good. But you couldn’t tell that Bernier lost all his shootouts in the AHl by the way way he peformed in this one.

  3. Matt R says:

    Congrats to Bernier on a fine win and a stellar shootout! This kid looks pretty good. He’s gonna give JQ a run for his money next year.

  4. R.E.M. Murray says:

    @neil,

    That would be the equivalent of facing Kopitar every time.

  5. Shakes says:

    Weekend at Bernier’s.

    ‘just to make sure that things are OK with Jonathan Quick and family’

    I can already tell everyone who is in nets come Sunday.

  7. Little Willy says:

    @Shakes, yeah but he ain t no dead weight that s for sure!! FUNNY movie though!!lol

  8. Little Willy says:

    Bernier s phone call to Quick!! i got this Chief !! TAKE ALL THE TIME OFF U WANT!!

  9. Alen says:

    Kid must like the big stage.

  10. Alen says:

    @R.E.M. Murray, You really think Bernier starts Sunday?

  11. puckstopper27 says:

    I say they give JB one more start on Sunday so Quick can rest up a bit for the stretch drive. Bernier goes back to Manchester for the playoffs and in September……….GAME ON!

  12. Quisp says:

    @neil

    Actually the NHL average SV% in shoot-outs is 67%

  13. Dominick says:

    I was reading some of the comments on the previous thread and I noticed that Quick(who has been great this season)has fallen out of favor with some short sighted fans.1 game and lets throw caution to the wind and Bring up Bernier.

  14. Nitrohockey says:

    @Dominick, Yup, I’ve noticed that too. Man, ain’t we just a bipolar bunch?

    @Little Willy,

    LOL!!! Ya, I just wonder if the Kings recall Bernier full time, and send Ersberg down or trade him during the off-season. Ersberg was great to start when we first got him, but he really has struggled this year when he played!!

  16. Coop says:

    I was at the game tonight and bernier looked super relaxed and composed, espescially during the shootout. Overall the place was dead but we were cheering hard for the Kings.

  17. Db6 says:

    My take(sitting behind Murray)… JB was good, not great, cause he didn’t need to be, d played well, murray cussed out jones at least 5 times under his breath during the game, brownie is vocal ( understatement) Fro has the sane awkward grin after each shift… Now my personal opinion, quick is our guy for a ling time, bernier is a bonus, deano knows this… I love being a kings fan!

  18. granados says:

    @Dominick, I agree with you. We should be happy with all the hard work and effort that Quick has done. Quick is the # 1 goalie with 37 wins, that is impressive. Bernier 1 win and everyone is jumping up and down. great game tonite but is only one game.

  19. #1faninvegas says:

    @granados,

    I love Quick and say leave him in….but on the other side…I say leave Bernier up, and send Ersberg in….Ersberg hasnt played well this season as he did last. He needs some warm up games in, ya know!!

  20. granados says:

    @#1faninvegas, You are right, that they need to let Ersberg play some games, specially before playoff.

  21. #1faninvegas says:

    @granados,

    if Quick has an off-game, I dont know if I can trust Ersberg. He has been off all year when he did play. One game by Bernie, this year, and he looked awesome. Looks as good as Quick. It’s a tough decision. But I say send Ersberg to AHL, let him get alot of games in b4 the play-offs, than do a switch again, recall Ers, and send back down, Bernie. Im troubled, for next year though. Bernie, and Quick fighting for the #1 spot. They both deserve it. Its gonna be tough. I feel bad for TM during training camp next year!! I dont know whats gonna happen to Ersberg. I see send down, but I also can see a trade, cuz he is not a #1 or a very good back-up right now. If he plays….maybe Ill change my opinion, but for now…its a tough spot!!

  22. Kris says:

    I liked what he did in the game but still say playing in the AHL playoffs as a #1 will be best for him (big picture). Next year however, well I see him with us after we trade EE at the deadline (or if there’s an injury).JB proved himself tonight from what I drunkenly saw on the replay! Good job! And that 1 goal against was a good bang bang play on the stars part. I don’t blame him at all!

  23. #1faninvegas says:

    @Kris,

    I agree Kris!!!

  24. roadtripper says:

    After the next game we’ve got a few days off… Let Quicker stay home and get everyone settled in while we’ve got Bernier here. Give JB one more start against a team we have a hard time beating and let’s see what he can do against them… Why not?

    GO KINGS!!!

  25. #1faninvegas says:

    @roadtripper,

    That makes total sense there!! I agree with you!!

    He’s one happy daddy!!!

  26. What's the frequency, Kenneth? says:

    @Alen

    What made you think that? Quick starts Sunday, and Bernier goes back to scrubville.

  27. Kris says:

    @roadtripper, i agree. Also that game is at a time that may be hard for a new dad to wake up for (Quick does have that widely publishised over sleeping issue lmao) Darn that time change! Oh just a reminder, don’t forget to change clocks the night before (Sat. night if you are as drunk as me). lol

  28. #1faninvegas says:

    @Kris,

    thanks for the warning!! I wouldnt have known!!

    its bedtime yall!! Talk to you all later!!!

  29. What ever happened to Marty Murray? says:

    Bernier has got to start on Sunday. You can’t send a guy down after giving a performance like that. Give Quick one more game to gather his thoughts heading into the playoffs and then put him back in and send Bernie down to help Manchester win the Calder. I think it’s the perfect plan!

  30. What ever happened to Marty Murray? says:

    P.S- Modin is so much better than Halpern.

  31. GG says:

    @#1faninvegas, how many games EE play.He is good if he will play more.

  32. neil says:

    @What ever happened to Marty Murray?, Purcell for Modin would make more sense then for Halperin….

  33. @Kris,

    Completely agree!

    Say… Did you like the alternative jerseys?

  34. roadtripper says:

    @Kris, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
