@DougS,

I agree with you too!!! I however think Modin will. Im hoping he does too!! Modin I believe wants another cup. From what I heard, both Modin, and Halpern, were excited to come to the Kings. So, if the Kings do good in the post-season this year, and Im talking not getting swept in a round, and surpassing the 1st round, than Modin will resign. If Kings get swept and/or eliminated in the first round. I think he will try to find another Stanley Cup contender. I hope he stays with the Kings though, he seems to have new life!!

@puckstopper27,
I'll be the first to admit that Modin has been even better than I thought he would be. But if he continues to shine like this (a 40 goal/year pace!), I think it will be hard for DL to re-sign him. A big stretch run/playoff performance for him — Frederick Modin rises from the dead! — will increase his value on the open market and may make him too expensive, depending on how hard DL tries to re-sign Frolov, whether he goes after Marleau or Kovalchuk, and what he does to strengthen the defensive corps.

Modin was under contract for $3 mil this year. If he really revives his career here, I doubt he will re-up for less. He will also be 36, which means that he will only decline and become less durable from here on. If he's willing to take less money in exchange for another shot at a Stanley Cup, I can see him returning to LA; otherwise, it's going to be tough.

@puckstopper27,

AGREED.....Im waiting to see Halpern shine. He has done well, in my NHL seasons of video games, when I had him. I was excited Dean got him, but Im also wanting to see him shine. He just needs more playing time.

@PurpleBlacknGold,

I say, it truly was an honor. Truly more of an honor to finally see the Kings reconized like this more and more.

Deano needs to lock Modin up for another year or two. What a fantastic trade!
