    Bernier just awesome game today…he never seemed out of position!!!

  5. oldthunder says:

    Amazing for Bernier. I guess that means he has earned another game TM (cough cough). Enjoy the weekend all.

  6. KingFan4ever says:

    No 500th win for you Crawfish!

  7. Kings Fan In Idaho says:

    OOOOOOOhhhh Yeeeeeaaaahhhh!!!

    Surprised Modin didnt get a shot. He has the hot hand.

    Anyway solid game. Jones is still scary out there.

    Bernier looked REAL solid.

    Dam center ice ended it b4 3 stars. Bernier better of been #1.

  13. Kings Fan In Idaho says:

    Bernier earned that win tonight!

  14. src says:

    @Crownme87,

    Real good!!!

  15. Scaught says:

    This was Bernier’s game. Period. The Kings played like crapola. They need to kiss the man’s feet.

  16. JWX says:

    Go Bernier Go!!!

  17. AK47 says:

    BERNIERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

    can’t wait to have the best goalie tandem next season

  18. KingsFan in OC says:

    Bernier made a believer outta me tonight. I am not ready to crown him the #1 for 2010/2011, but he was great tonight. Held off a team desperate for a win and the all important second point.

    Great job. I had quite a bit of bile up in my throat without Quick in net for the shootout, but JB got the job done. 26-0-0 when leading after 2. Not too shabby.

    Great job boys!!! Now lets get after the Preds on Sunday!

  19. Mark says:

    Bernier was awesome! It was so fun watching this kid play!!

  20. RYC says:

    Bernier’s time in the AHL has definately paid off.

  21. Deadmarsh says:

    Bernier looked absolutely amazing!

    Especially in the shootout.

    He proved he’s ready for the NHL. Great rebound control.

    Modin also looked really good tonight.

  22. NMKingsFan says:

    Next season’s goalie controversy has just started this season.

  23. Kings Fan In Idaho says:

    @Crownme87,

    GREAT!

  24. KingFan4ever says:

    Dallas out played the Kings in the 3rd and OT and still got the win. The hockey gods are giving them good mojo!

  25. Isn’t it great to have goalie DEPTH?

  26. Mike says:

    pleasant side effect of Bernier’s performance: if Quick was watching, he’s got to be thinking, “I’m going to have to be even better to hold this guy off.”

    Then again …

    It was the Stars!

  27. McDonalds says:

    BERNIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What a performance in that shootout!
    TH

    i can’t WAIT for the goalie controversy! Not this year, maybe not even next year, but soon enough, we’ll have that great problem

    GO KINGS!

    P.S.
    THANK YOU NHL network for showing the shootout live!

  28. Kings Fan in Temecula says:

    @JWX, YEEEAH WOOO!

  29. Pat says:

    Bernier looked great for the shootout! Great job! Two more points closer to the playoffs!!

  30. luckyluc13 says:

    Wow…Bernier looks REALLY GOOD.

  31. Copper10-8 says:

    A big 2 points on the road, boys! Props to young Mr. Bernier

  32. RYC says:

    Nice to beat Crawford again.

  33. KC23 says:

    Bernie should be back up in the Playoffs.

  34. Cynic says:

    Wow..we have REAL goaltending! (sniff!)

  35. KingsFan in OC says:

    @NMKingsFan,

    Not by a long shot. One game does not make a goalie controversey. Bernier had a shutout against the Quacks the first game last season and then tanked. This was a great game, but calling it a goalie controversy is silly.

  36. Simarosa says:

    Bernier was back on his game tonight, great win.

  37. McDonalds says:

    hmmmmm…Hey Rich who are you going to interview? haha

  38. uvgt2bkdnme says:

    Repost, because I’m sure you’ll all enjoy this:

    I’m pretty sure none of you are watching, so I’ll let you in on a gem: Getzlaf thought the Ducks scored and raised his arms up, but the puck actually went into the corner . . .

  39. bbb7 says:

    Wow, JB is the real deal. One cool customer during the entire shootout; actually during the entire game.
    The Dallas announcers were commenting on the Kings’ ’stable’ of young goalies..ABSOLUTELY! We have to be the envy of the entire league.
    On a side note, I have to say I enjoyed the Dallas announcers; probably the best Ive heard apart from our own. Fair and knowledgable.

  40. Scaught says:

    Bernier: TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL. Amazing performance.

  41. Snakes says:

    Bernier.. Cool as a cucumber! Bernier earned those 2 points for us. Hope someone buys him a pitcher!

    Give him another start TM.

    Cheers!

  42. Cynic says:

    I was surprised not to see Simmonds in the shootout. He was great on bobblehead night.

  43. Mark1967 says:

    So Bernier wins the game and the world doesn’t end….. Great game for the Kings!

  44. Mike L says:

    @KC23,

    No, he deserves better than to be a backup. he deserves to lead his team into the playoffs for a run. However if some reason Manchester doesn’t make playoffs by all means call him up.

  45. KingsFan in OC says:

    @uvgt2bkdnme,

    He was just double checking to make sure his helmet didn’t come off revealing his bald head!!!

  46. shades says:

    IMO, the Kings played a safe, slow pace for Berniers benefit and Dallas was happy to do the same, both hoping for at least a point and then see what happens in the SO.

    Ersberg would have gotten the same result, a 1-1 tie in regulation, but Bernier showed why he will be the Kings goalie of the NEAR FUTURE…stopped several SO opportunities with ease…

    JB’s the man!

  47. westside king fan says:

    kings win ,I love that team is playing so good !! Bernier played so good !

  48. McDonalds says:

    And major props to Stoll. That’s the second time he’s won it on that type of shot.

  49. R.E.M. Murray says:

    Anyone know when the AHL playoffs are over.

    Then we bring Bernier up in case there are any more Dumont’s.

    Unless we are ousted by that time by Dumont’s.

  50. KC23 says:

    What was the 3 stars?

  51. Bob Bobson says:

    @Crownme87, He looked really good out there. Calm and everything seemed to hit him right in the middle of his chest. No rebounds either.

    OT but I really liked the Stars announcers.

  52. King of queens says:

    how did u guys watch the game? I could not find it on tv

  53. danny says:

    @KingsFan in OC,

    no shoutout he gave up a goal. and how many of those goals in the next 3 games were 2 on 1 or 3 on 1 i would say at least half.

  54. tantrum4 says:

    Woah! Bernier is SOLID!! Hopefully Quick doesn’t blame his daughter for losing his job!!! Ha ha..I kid, I kid…

  55. Bob Bobson says:

    @King of queens, Center Ice

  56. Galen says:

    @src, ^this^

  57. Count RockuLA says:

    @King of queens, use sopcast or if u have a mac sopcast + crossover

  58. king_Stoner says:

    @Crownme87,

    it feels great… bernier’s shoot out tonight was absolutely amazing!!! its gonna be nice to have a great 1-2 goalie combo for a while!!! and not to mention really solid defensive talent for years to come to help out! scary good!

  59. KingzzFan says:

    @King of queens,
    It’s on one of those sites Rich does not want us to post here.

  60. Crownme87 says:

    @Bob Bobson,
    Agreed about Dallas announcers. Definitely one of the better combo’s in the NHL

  61. Kings Fan In Idaho says:

    @KingsFan in OC,

    LOL

  62. KLUKA68 says:

    @King of queens, you can watch it on line here:http://www.atdhe.net/index.html

  63. Little Willy says:

    @Cynic, LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLZZZZZZZZZZ

  64. Mike L says:

    @R.E.M. Murray,

    AHL playoffs don’t end until way into NHL playoffs i believe. 2nd round or later of NHL ones. IF manchester were to go all the way.

  65. Naturallawyer says:

    @Cynic, Simmonds absolutely schooled Turco in a shootout last year. He deked backhand and went top shelf, IIRC. I was hoping to see Simmonds as well.

  66. ViperHockey says:

    @bbb7, Interesting that you say that about the Stars announcers. For the longest time Ralph Strangis was known as one of the biggest homers in the league. There are no bigger homers than the Sharks announcers nowadays.

  67. KingMe20 says:

    @KingsFan in OC,

    That dude needs to soak his helmet in Rogaine. He’s way too young to have a hairline like my accountant.

  68. LBlocal says:

    @KLUKA68, oops.

  69. king_Stoner says:

    @McDonalds,

    hell yeah on the nhl network’s live look in on the shoot out!!

  70. Dutch says:

    Williams played great for being out for so long. JB was SOLID in the SO

  71. Joey Drillings says:

    Stars-Bernier, Modin, Turco

  72. #1faninvegas says:

    I was very impressed with Bernier in the shootout tonight. He seems, to be ready for NHL action!!

  73. R.E.M. Murray says:

    Finally, more are on board with what I have been saying all season about Bernier. I understand most Kings fans haven’t seen too much of this kid but he is definately the real deal.

  74. Joey Drillings says:

    @KC23, Bernier was 1, Modin 2, Turco 3

  75. Little Willy says:

    Bernier looks that he s made from the same mold that Patrick Roy was made from!! Same coolness under pressure !!Without the stuoid nervous ticks though!! lol

  76. #1faninvegas says:

    @R.E.M. Murray,

    I agree, so we have 2 great goaltenders now….what happens next??

  77. Little Willy says:

    @Little Willy, sorry meant STUPID!!!!

  78. KLUKA68 says:

    @LBlocal, Did i say someting wrong???

  79. KingzzFan says:

    OK. JB was good, Kings played a defense game first, as you could see if you watched the game. EE would have done just as well. Shoot out was amazing and we actually got to see what he is capable of 1 on 1. He won’t be back till next year or unless there is an injury, he is needed in Manchester as you can see by their score tonight if their going to win a championship. Which will make him that much better. Stay the course people. Quicker is awesome and will Finnish the season. JB will be here next year. The future is bright.

    I still believe EE should have had the start tonight. But we all have our opinions.

    GO KINGS

  80. Alen says:

    Isn’t it nice to have a guy in net that’s always in position and doesn’t have to use his athleticism all the time to make a save. Guys like Bernier succeed, guys like Quick who don’t learn have a few good years(Quick will learn, i hope). Just look at Tim Thomas, Checmanek, etc etc etc.

  81. crashin' da net says:

    Sounds like JB played very well. More info on JW’s performance please! Skating ability? Confidence? Power play performance? enquiring minds wanna know!

  82. Galen says:

    We can carry 3 goalies…welcome JB.

  83. KingzzFan says:

    @King of queens, I think you might have… lol

  84. Little Willy says:

    @Alen, Good point!!!

  85. Freezang says:

    @Alen,

    AMEN Brother. You’re bang on!

  86. bmova says:

    B4 everyone starts jumping on the Bernier Bandwagon, please remember that it was only ONE game against a mediocre team. He played excellent and was great in the SO…but it was only against the Stars.

    5-0 against Dallas…why can’t we play like this against the damn Preds???

  87. tantrum4 says:

    @crashin’ da net,

    He didn’t play a whole lot. I barely noticed him out there. But that’s expected from a 2 month layoff.

  88. Dan H. says:

    Why would ANYONE Crack on Quick’s game after what he’s done this season for the Kings?

    We have a very very solid guy in Quick and hopefully the same in Bernier. Like Rich always says…until they play a full season in the NHL it’s too soon to annoint anyone with anything.

    Great to get 2 points out of Dallas again. Has to stick in Crawford’s…well craw.

  89. Kings Fan In Idaho says:

    @Joey Drillings,

    Thank you for that. I hate it when they cut us off before they give that info.

  90. R.E.M. Murray says:

    @Alen,

    That is 100% correct. The problem is Bernier gets knocked for his size, unfairly.

  91. tantrum4 says:

    @bmova,

    No one is jumping on the bandwagon. We are just happy that we have an up and commer that looks like he can be the real deal. Wow was he ever cool out there…

  92. Alen says:

    @Galen, Yeah but that’s highly unlikely. Bernier will lead Manchester, Quick will lead the Kings and next year we can argue more about who should start.

  93. tantrum4 says:

    @Dan H.,

    Who’s cracking on Quicks game??

  94. EMur says:

    @crashin’ da net, He seemed to be skating very well. No hesitation going into the corners, didn’t shy away at all. I think it was Fistric knocked him down before he got the shot off at one point and he hit the net and bounced right back up. Wasn’t on the powerplay or penalty kill, I don’t think TM is ready to play with that just yet.

  95. tantrum4 says:

    But seriously…how happy is Bernier right now???

  96. crashin' da net says:

    @tantrum4,

    Very true T24. just want to get a feel. thanks.

  97. R.E.M. Murray says:

    @bmova,

    Mediocre team against their medoiocre reason, Marty Turco.

    I bet you will counter with Turco looking mediocre tonight too, right?

  98. king_Stoner says:

    you gotta love the nhl on the fly guys laughing about sean avery being benched for tonights game. god i hate mr. diver, sean avery. glad he’s gone

  99. MR King says:

    There is definitely a contrast between both goalies’ styles.

    Bernier looked incredibly solid, his positioning was amazing and he handled the 2-on-0 well, though if the ref hadn’t blown an early whistle it might have been a different story. I was amazed how great he was in the SO as well.

    I still believe in Quick as our #1 with Ersberg as backup for the playoffs, no doubt about that. It was nice to see the calm collected style of Bernier though.

  100. Alen says:

    @R.E.M. Murray, I hope this just makes Quick try harder. Competition can be great!

  101. jpuckster says:

    Bernier played a great game. Was awesome in the shoot out. I think Kings were collapsing to protect him. That being said I think Quick is much quicker than him and positions himself better.
    Jones scares the hell out of me, bring back Drewiske.

  102. Lanny McDonald's 'Stache says:

    @KingzzFan, And not all opinions are made equal, clearly

  103. Little Willy says:

    @bmova, Bernier is the real thing my friend!!Were just excited to finally have a legitimate backstopper FINALLY!!!

  104. McDonalds says:

    @KingzzFan,

    I totally respect what you’re saying, but I agree with TM’s decision. Bernier isn’t gonna be here for much longer, so let’s just take a look at him. And why not reward Bernier for his AWESOME work in the AHL?

    I think TM should call up Quick and tell him to enjoy his daughter for another game or two.

    EE should play the next game IMO.

  105. LBlocal says:

    MORE FRIDAY NIGHT GAMES

  106. Alen says:

    @R.E.M. Murray, This Mediocre team just beat the CAPS and are playing every game extremely hard trying to sneak into the playoffs. It’s as good of a test as you can get at this point. Plus Turco has been on fire, did you see him against the caps?

  107. danny says:

    @jpuckster,

    you think quick positions himself better than bernier? man thats funny.

  108. crashin' da net says:

    @EMur, No hesitation gooing into the corneres??!! he didn’t do that BEFORE the injury! (Just kidding) Sounds good. Glad he’s back. thanks.

  109. KingzzFan says:

    @Alen, Did you watch the game? He was good, not stellar, our D saved him a few times. out of position a few times. athleticism is what makes a great goalie along with position. like Quicker.

    It kills me to hear everyone here already putting JQ on the back burner after the season hes having… He got us here and he did it because he is good. check the NHL stats if you need clarification.

    Never satisfied, always want more, not appreciating what we have.. Rally?

    Go Kinga

  110. tantrum4 says:

    @MR King,

    I agree 100%. But if Quick gets hurt in the playoffs, I bet they bring up Bernier to replace him and EE is still the backup

  111. armyhky says:

    #1 Star – Bernier #2 Modin #3 Turco

  112. crashin' da net says:

    @EMur, No hesitation going into the corners??!! he didn’t do that BEFORE the injury! (Just kidding) Sounds good. Glad he’s back. thanks.

  113. Little Willy says:

    @jpuckster, Sorry but Quick doesen’t even come close of outpositioning Bernier!! are you kidding me???

  114. DaveinSD says:

    Nashville is next. Time to stand up to these morons and show is #4!I will be in Section 217 on the Sunday matinee bashing the hell out of the Predators!

  115. McDonalds says:

    @Alen,

    Quick is certainly athletic, but to throw him in the same boat as Thomas and Checkmankek (yuck) is a WAY extreme.

    Quick is a butterfly goalie. It’s not like he’s out of position or sprawling on the ice all the time.

    Two or three years from now, regarless of what goalie we will have gone with by then, the other will be a starting on another team. I’m fairly confident of that.

  116. tantrum4 says:

    @jpuckster,

    I disagree. Bernier was ALWAYS square to the shooter and that’s why most of their shots seemed to hit him right in the Kings Crown on his jersey. Even Darryl Ray (the Stars color guy and former NHL goaltender) mentioned this and said he seemed to be in position early before the one timers came at him

  117. KingzzFan says:

    @Dan H., Thank you Dan H. I’m with you 100% on that.

  118. tantrum4 says:

    @DaveinSD,

    I wonder if they ride Bernier until he looses?? Probably not but imagine? That would be crazy!!

  119. MR King says:

    @danny, Athleticism/flexibility goes to Quick but positioning and overall collectedness goes to Bernier. Hugs and kisses for Erseberg.

  120. Alen says:

    @KingzzFan, Athleticism is a plus but not what a goaltender should depend on. It isn’t extreme, you guys think quick is having a good year? Remember when Roman put a 1.97 gaa that one year? Remember when Tim Thomas won the Vezina last year? Go read LGK “KINGSFAN4EVER”, read my Tim Thomas will crash and burn predictions. I’m saying Quick needs to learn to count less on his athleticism and more on his smarts so he doesn’t become what the two I mention have become.

  121. Cry Baby says:

    @tantrum4, The Kings already have the real deal in Quick…

  122. Alen says:

    @McDonalds, Oh yeah I agree. I think Quick will learn and get better as well. I don’t wanna sound like Debbie Downer or anything but just look at Quick’s stats. They aren’t exactly impressive, only impressive part is the W’s. But don’t get me wrong, I want Quick to finish what he started this season and Bernier to finish what he started in Manchester. I just can’t wait till next year when we have two capable starter goalies up in the NHL and rested goalies all year.

  123. nykingfan says:

    @McDonalds,
    I disagree about starting EE next game.
    You want points at this time of the year. This is no time for being nice or doing the right thing.
    Bernier or Quick give you the best chance to win.
    The only reason EE is still on this roster is because they want Bernier getting playing time and teams like the Islanders were demanding a 1st rd pick for guys like Biron or Roloson.

  124. Little Willy says:

    What’s happenned to OD’S game ?? he looks awful lately and don t even get me started on that Jones BOY !!! terrible!!!

  125. tantrum4 says:

    @Little Willy,

    I feel the same way about Brown. Horrible…

  126. Lazyone213 says:

    @nykingfan,
    I think you nailed it. This is exactly the reason JB was in the AHL, while EE has been riding pine all year. Murray’s choice to start JB for this game proves it

  127. KingzzFan says:

    @Alen, Just remember coming up and playing one game on pure adrenalin is much different that playing a season up here. Take a look back at what happened last year after winning his first game overseas. Apples and Oranges…

  128. FiG17 says:

    @KingzzFan,

    the problem with “stellar,” and this has been a pet peeve of mine for a while, is that in order to be stellar you have to make flashy, showy saves that look pretty… when really a lot of those pretty saves wouldn’t have to be made if the goalie was in position. It kills me when goalies make these wild saves and scramble when they aren’t necessary and everyone’s full of praise for them. Look at Bernier: yeah, he didn’t have very many flashy saves, and yeah, there were a few scrambles, but for the most part he was always in position and was able to make the saves look easy, without giving up rebounds. Presently, “stellar” means pretty… not necessarily “good” IMHO.

  129. Lazyone213 says:

    @tantrum4,
    Yup, Ray was all over Bernier. said something to the effect boy this kid is a natural ‘tender after noticing he doesn’t lean out of position even with the dekes during the so.

  130. Kings Fan In Idaho says:

    @Little Willy,

    Come on!! If it wasn’t for Jones Dallas would of had the extra goal. Give him a break would ya.

  131. Lazyone213 says:

    Only one game, but boy what a great problem to have. Hope this is Biron and Miller all over

  132. Bobby Scribe says:

    Bernier in goal. Good move. Knew it all along. Post game article at http://www.lakingsnews.com

  133. #1faninvegas says:

    @Lazyone213,

    Im confused by this what do you mean??

  134. KingzzFan says:

    @FiG17, Good to have pet peeves. but to look stellar you are surrounded by a strong defense that is not giving up good scoring chances. Is great for us fans to put our future goalie (and yes im in that camp) on a pedestal when he really didn’t face high quality scoring chances. If he was athletic he would have made the save on the only goal scored on him.

    See, your reasoning can go both ways.

    Quicker IMO is the better of the two right now. (remember I said right now) ! game is so far off base to qualify a goalie in the NHL. (see last season) JB is our future. I will say that. But appreciate the present and what JQ id doing for us now…

  135. @Little Willy, I actually thought Jones played better, but lately I agree that Jones can be scary. In my opinion, Johnson played worse that OD or Jones tonight. We only gave up one goal, so can’t get too crazy about it. I wonder why TM, doesn’t use Stoll more in shootouts. He won the Boston game also I believe.

  136. Alen says:

    @Hockey SureShot, Probably cause Stoll isn’t a threat to make a move, just pull up and shoot. (but I guess you can say the same thing about Smyth and Zeus and they ge used more often) You can’t try to figure out TM or you’ll just get baffled by some things he’s done before.

  137. Alen says:

    @#1faninvegas, He hopes Bernier is our Miller and Quick is our Biron.

  138. Barry's Mullet says:

    How nice is it to be loaded with talent in Goal!

    For those who didn’t see the game…the kids a natural, he just looks so calm in net.

    Kopi, DD, JJ, Simmer, Quick and now Bernier…whats next the STANLEY CUP? I must be dreaming and if I am please don’t wake me up!

  139. FiG17 says:

    Oh, I definitely agree that Quick’s been amazing for us, I’m not devaluing that at all. Sorry, I should have been more clear… I was more just noting my apprehension with the word choice. Athleticism is definitely an important part of a goalie’s game, I just wish that goalies who make so many wild saves didn’t overshadow the ones who don’t need to. Both types of goalies are good, just in different ways… only one of them makes the highlight reels.

  140. jet says:

    @#1faninvegas, Clouts or Barbs? Barbs or Clouts, oh sorry, juat having some bad flashbacks.

  141. Al says:

    Well, well, well the 2nd coming of the god of all goaltenders has arrived according to all you “goaltending experts”, now we’ll just trash the guy who set the Kings All-Time wins record and who is leading the NHL in victories, what is with you guys anyhow. Your remarks certainly show your intelligence about the position of goaltender. And I’m sure you all have stopped NHL shots. For your information, having athleticism and flexibility in your game certainly does not hurt it and being a “Cookie Cutter” goaltender can cost. I liked what I seen in JB tonight and all I can think about is what a great tandum we may have. I say “we may have” because the kid who is the 2nd goaltender in Manchester isn’t all that shabby either. It’s very possible that JB could step in right now, but there was no pressure on him tonight and please, don’t tell me there was. The pressure was on Turco and the Stars because they really need the points, they have no cushion. Pressure was on Quick when he got called up last season to right the ship and did pretty darn well. I will agree Ersberg is doomed ala the “Titanic” but he’ll land on his blades with another team or play in the “KHL”. But it was nice to see Bernier and to see how well he has improved from his first 4 games with the Kings. I wouldn’t say he is a natural as you actually have to work on the “butterfly”, being able to move about and be in position and make the stops, that’s natural. My taste for a goaltender is one who has both. Also Quick is five times better then Tim Thomas and what an insult to even use CheckManic’s name in the same sentence.

    @Alen,

    You compare him to these others as though it means something.

    The guy has been a godsend and you talk like he is a fluke. What do you base this on? Other goalies have not had good years, so what?

    We just have to hope he keeps improving.

    @tantrum4,

    That would remind everyone of then rookie Sean Burke’s out-of-nowhere late season ‘88 run. 10-1 down the stretch and leading the Devil’s to their first ever playoffs. Potentially a helluva story!

  144. Nightman says:

    Bernier was very good today, gotta give him props! But Lets not trash the guy that got us this far! Send Johnathan back to the Monarch for their playoff run, this win over an NHL team will only enhance his performance and confidence, we will see him soon enough! And Congrats to our current Goalie and proud Papa and his new baby girl. Quick should be just as jazzed and beaming with pride down the stretch as well. All is good in the Kingdom!

  145. KingsFan in OC says:

    @danny,

    You’re right he gave up one goal in his first game, I was mistaken. But he then gave up 15 goals in his next three games. I was only making the point that you can’t say there is an overall goalie controversy based on one game. And, by your logic, we aren’t counting 2 on 1’s or 3 on 1’s in GAA? How many more wins would Quick have if it weren’t for those kinds of breaks? If you want to invent your own criteria for criticism, then lets be fair to both sides.

  146. What's the frequency, Kenneth? says:

    Lame attack on Quick. Taking nothing away from Bernier, he had a great game three seasons ago, then laid some eggs. It’s good to see Bernier has kept it together, and I look forward to a great preseason for them both after Bernier is sent back down.

    Quick is not “out of position” all the time…and both of them need to work on their puck handling.

  147. What's the frequency, Kenneth? says:

    @Alen, and the mediocre team was shut out by Quick last time he played them–which wasn’t long ago.

  148. What's the frequency, Kenneth? says:

    @Al, thanks! someone had to say it. I look forward to next preseason’s inevitable head-to-head.

  149. The Ghost of Jack Kent Cooke says:

    On Dallas goal OD made a nice tape to tape pass to Star player to start play, then stood there as goal was scored. At least Jones has some offensive upside.

  150. number 6 says:

    What a thread. We have for the first time probably ever, two potential stars in goal….. and what do we get? Arguments!!!

  151. AZ King says:

    @R.E.M. Murray

    I never doubted Bernier had the ability, but I wasn’t willing to dub him the next great thing until he proved he could hang at this level. That being said, it’s only one game and the last time he was here the first game wasn’t the problem, the next 3 games were.

    He looked really good though, and I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t be up here next season.

  152. AZ King says:

    @Little Willy

    We finally have a legitimate goalie in Bernier? So I guess Quick has just been pretending to be a real goalie all year?

  153. AZ King says:

    @tantrum4

    That would be crazy. Bernier played great, but no way did he play himself into a starting position ahead of Quick.

  154. David says:

    @Scaught,
    He was good, not stellar. A few went off the crossbar/post and even Jones saved him in the first period. Both teams played great defensively.

  155. R.E.M. Murray says:

    @bmova,

    Who is the mediocre team here?
