Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts…
(on whether it can be tough to play a game with few shots…)
QUICK: “Well, physically not at all, but mentally it could be a bit of a battle there, to stay focused for the full 60 minutes. The team played great the whole game. We took a couple penalties there at the end, but our PK unit played great and it was real easy for me. We had some big goals and it was a great game.”
(on whether he’s feeling sharper with every start, post-Olympics..)
QUICK: “Definitely, but I didn’t come back thinking that I wasn’t sharp. There were a couple miscues, puckhandling and stuff, but I feel like, even in the Dallas game, I felt good. I made some good saves, I felt, and in that game, like this game, I had some help.”

Mr Quick!!!!!
Great win!!
Second, this is probably for an open forum but I didn’t want to forget it. I noticed they tape the puck after every goal and write the players numbers involved in the goal on the tape. They’re kept in the kings penalty box. Do you know what they do with them? Thanks
I think Quick got to watching a lot of great puck-handling goaltenders during the Olympics, when he wasn’t allowed to play, and he probably tried to learn a bit and try it out. Overall, I think that’s good–I think he should work on every facet of the game–I just think he better shelve the puck-handling moves until the offseason.
I am always impressed with Quick’s interviews. He is very humble and just always seems to say the right things, yet still not make it the normal cliche’s you get from some athletes. Hard not to like the kid just based on how he is, then his play has been great.
I thought our Quick was back in form last night with his puck handling skills. I think if there was any rust, it’s gone now.
Uh, except for that one ‘behind the net’ puck stop attempt that bounced off his stick AGAIN and bounced right out in front of the net!
@wavesinair, I noticed that too. I’m pretty sure they’ll be working on puck handling a lot during the mini-break coming up. Something along the lines of “try not to, but if you must…”
