What happened to Ontario? My son and I went to see Doughty , Quincy and Purcell last year. I guess were going for a road trip to Aliso Viejo.

  2. @robert,

My daughter lives in Mission Viejo, I used to own a home in Laguna Hills…

Hope that drive isn’t too bad!

  3. Paul from Oxnard says:

If they could only be coming to Ventura instead of Simi Valley. :( Ventura is much easier for me to get to and to find time for tomorrow.

  4. Kingsfan4life says:

So excited to finally meet kopi!!!! I have always tried to make it out but finally I get to. I’m making the drive from Fullerton I’m so pumped!!

  5. holly says:

Riverside gets my vote for most likely to make you pee your pants entertaining.

  6. Kingsfanone says:

    @Kingsfan4life,

Be sure you thank Smytty also. He’s a big reason Kopi is doing what he’s doing and where the team is in the standings.

  7. BringBackTheShieldJersey says:

Anze, Smyth, and DaviS together! Be still my heart.

  8. neil says:

i guess they dont need an enforcer at these events….No Ivan????

  9. Rich Hammond says:

That was my error, Neil. I have now put Ivanans where he should be, with the Pasadena group.

  10. neil says:

@Rich Hammond, A error??? You are human!!!!!!! Thanks again for all the info….

  11. markisonfire says:

That’s a little better for Simi. I love Fro. :)

  12. jet says:

@Paul from Oxnard, You had Simmonds in Ventura last year.

  13. jet says:

@markisonfire, the new line up sure makes the choice more difficult.
There may be heavy rain tomorrow, so you may want to plan to leave a bit early. We may want to go a little easy on the players as some may have 2 hour drives.

  14. Dominick says:

@BakoCAkingsCondorsGuy,If your ever out towards Mission Viejo let me know.I’m still down South more but would make a trip.

  15. Cynic says:

@holly, I’m wondering how Simmer, Clune and Moller will like being next to the Mikus jersey. Hoping to get Juraj to pose with each of them for a few photos.

  16. Kenny says:

We ended up going to the Pasadena rink instead of Riverside. Even though my wife loves Simmonds, she saw Greener’s “face time, bebe” video and wanted to meet him instead. I chatted with coach Murray for about 15 minutes before the session started – what a completely genuine and ultra nice guy he is. I can see why the boys like playing for him more than Andy Murray. My wife and I had a blast. Totally worth driving through that torrential downpour. I mentioned the “bebe” thing to Greener and he laughed. I wished them all good luck in the playoffs and they all cheered. Woooo Hoooo!

BTW, I asked coach Murray, “Canada or USA?” And said, “If it was a best of seven series, I’d say Canada for sure. But it’ll be a very interesting if not very tight game with a lot of hitting. So I can’t really make a prediction.” Honest answer.

  17. wavesinair says:

Thanks for the report Kenny. Great info. Sounds like the event was pretty successful. Very cool that you spoke with Murray. Any more details from the convo? Would love to hear it all.

  18. Kenny says:

@wavesinair, I didn’t record the convo, but I opened with, “Thank you.” And he asked for what? I said thank you for making it so I can talk trash to all the lame Duck fans behind the Orange Curtain.” He smiled and said it wasn’t about him, it was about the team and the chemistry. I said that I’ve been a fan since day one and that not since 1993 have I been so happy to be a King fan. And I praised him again. After I got done with the brown-nosing, I asked him if the Kings are thinking about making a move before the deadline and he wouldn’t elaborate – saying, we’ll all just have to wait and see.” Stuff like that. He looked me straight in the eyes the entire time – like he was interested in what I had to say and his answers were right on the money, albeit humble. I told him if he brings a cup to Los Angeles I would kiss his Stanley Cup ring while on his finger. He smiled. He and Greener are guys you’d love to go have a beer with or shoot some pool with. DAMN – it’s great to be a King fan!

  19. Kenny says:

Oh, I also commented on that check Dustin Brown gave to Doughty. I asked if he could tell that Brown let up just as he went in for the hit – remembering that Drew’s a teammate. He said, that he noticed and that he tensed up right at that moment too.

  20. wavesinair says:

Thanks for sharing Kenny. Much appreciated. It’s fun to hear all of the anecdotal stories from fans. TM is no doubt a good guy and I for one prefer his style of coaching over the more contentious style. Did your wife manage to get a Simmonds bobblehead? (not at the tour stop, just in general)

  21. Kenny says:

We got tickets at the last minute and got our bobbleheads, yes. Thanks. We’re going to the 3/14 game too – to get Anze’s bobbler.
